1985 Mercedes 300D (W123) – “Khaleesi”

The W123 is a success story beyond imagination. Forged under the strict instruction to engineer a car like no other, and with Rolls Royce and Jaguar being the direct competition, Mercedes-Benz engineered the W123 into exemplary comfort, style, reliability, and safety. With wide chrome-rimmed doors, and up to seven seats, this is perfect for the Bride and her entourage.

1989 Mercedes 300SL (R107) – “Dragon”

Mercedes-Benz brought their engineering excellence and sporting success together to build the glamorous 300SL. The final 1989 model is recognised for its engineering perfection, which produces a luxurious ride with extreme style and finesse. Hard and Soft tops. Recommended for the Groom and Best Man.

1983 Mercedes 250 (W123) – “The Don”

Why should I choose Bournemouth Chauffeurs?

We are a small company who operate a personal, one-to-one service. Our first request will be to come and collect you in one of our cars, to experience the ride, and to discuss your plans in person. Please see our other FAQs to help you choose us as your wedding car service provider.

How will you prepare for the wedding day schedule?

We work directly with you to ensure that the pickup locations, routes and stops are clearly defined and tested before the big day. We follow the Armed Forces “Five P’s” protocol: Perfect Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.

Can I see the wedding vehicles available?

Absolutely! We invite all our customers to visit our secure compound to view all three of our cars. Test-drives are highly recommended.

Can the groom drive the car after the ceremony or is the driver always required?

We can accommodate a “showcase” drive-off by the groom on private property i.e. church and wedding venue grounds. As we only supply vintage vehicles, they need to be operated by one of our experienced and licensed drivers on the road.

Are all the vehicles insured and properly licensed?

All of our cars and are licensed and insured for weddings, and maintained to run at their beautiful best, all year round.

Is the car I want available on my wedding date?

Please just call us for a one-to-one confirmation. We hold provisional bookings for 7 days, by which time we require a 50% deposit to secure the booking. This deposit is refundable if the date is then filled by another customer, which is highly likely.

How many people can fit into the car?

Our two Mercedes-Benz limousines carry 1-7 passengers, while our Mercedes-Benz sportster carries 1-2 passengers. All together, we can transport 16 VIPs in unison, and multiple numbers via multiple trips.

What would happen if the chauffeur were late or the wedding car broke down?

We will factor in contingency timescales to ensure that we are not late. Our cars were built to never fail, but in the extremely unlikely event that a car did break down, we will have local luxury transport companies on stand-by on your special day.

What are the rental charges?

We charge £2 per car, per minute, which includes the cost of the chauffeurs. For weddings, we do have a minimum rental term of four hours per day. This could be exclusively for one car, or divided between two or three cars. Your final charge will be the minimum four-hour charge, plus additional minutes used – NOT additional hours.

What are the mileage costs?

We offer the first 20 miles free as part of the service; each mile thereafter is £2 per car, per mile. We do this to preserve the cars in their vintage condition.

Will the car remain at the venue until after the ceremony? Would I be able to use it to get to my reception?

When you hire us, we work for you. We only take ONE booking PER DAY, meaning that if you decide to extend your booking, we are there for you.

What decorations are provided for the car?

We provide ivory tulips, roses and ribbons with all of our cars. Personalised plates are available. We can also do custom decorations, of the wedding organiser’s choice.

Do you cater for honeymoon transfers and receptions?

We cater for everything except for late-night reception transport. We will happily recommend local transport services to cater for these.

Are chauffeur’s gratuities included in the bill?

A gratuity is optional, and not included in our bill.

When is full payment due?

After the initial 50% booking deposit, full payment is due 10 weeks before your big day. Flexible plans can be arranged, including those for late bookings.

Are there any hidden costs?

Absolutely not. You will only pay for the duration of the service, plus any mileage over the free 20 mile quota.

Terms of use of this website

  1. Requests for bookings will be made by phone call, or face to face, and will be reserved for seven days by a confirmation email.
  2. Within this seven day period, we would like to show you our cars for a test drive, and to discuss the travel arrangements.
  3. On agreement to provide the service, an invoice will be sent for the 50% holding deposit. Bookings will be confirmed when the invoice is paid.
  4. The 50% holding deposit is refundable, providing the slot can be filled by another customer – which is highly likely.
  5. Full payment is due 10 weeks before the event.
  6. Customers must provide sufficient input for their route planning before full payment is due, by working closely with our senior chauffeur.
  7. Decorations are inclusive, however modifications can be accommodated. Due to the vintage condition of our cars, we restrict the use of real flowers – with the exception of buttonholes, corsages and the bride’s bouquet.
  8. Strictly no smoking, food or drink allowed in these classic cars. We will however be more than happy to stop for any of the above.
  9. No pets. Guide dogs can be accommodated on request.
  10. Mileage costs are £2 per mile after the first 20 miles from the company secure Depot in BH1.
  11. Gratuities for our chauffeurs are welcome, but are not charged in the customer invoice.
  12. Due to licensing laws, customers are restricted to driving our cars (on prior request) on private property only.
  13. We cannot be held accountable for any delays to the service caused by the customer themselves, or by force majeure.
  14. We reserve the right to refuse transport to anyone deemed to be under excessive alcohol or substance inebriation.
  15. We will not tolerate abuse to our staff or damage to our cars. We reserve the right to refuse transport under those circumstances.
  16. We reserve the right to provide alternative transport in the event of a breakdown or a significant breach of these terms and conditions.
  17. A valet deposit of £250 is required per car, fully refundable on inspection of our vehicle at your final destination. This is due 10 weeks prior to the event, and fully refundable if no valet is required.
  18. The customer will be charged to repair any damage caused to the cars, accidental or otherwise.
